- I'm a fan of all of "the guitar head's" books, which I purchased. I've been playing guitar by ear since the 60's. Now that I have time to do whatever I like i've chosen to take my stale chops to the next level and then some.
I'm a born again guitarist and loving it. I love this whole series, the author is generous and delivers what is promised in a thorough but humorous way. I have joined "the passionate few"! He also gives access to free extras and weekly e-mail mini lessons on related topics. Buy them all and have some fun while you polish up your technique and abilities. - The basic knowledge for using tabs is well explained. However, as the book goes into the more detailed aspects of guitar tabs, the book does not do as good a job in explaining these aspects so that a beginner can comprehend.
- This book is a wonderful resource. If you want to learn TABS, and you probably do if you are reading this. You won't need to look anywhere else. I found this book very easy to follow. It will help you become familiar to how TABS work. After some practice, the book will become an outstanding reference to look back on.
- I'm 57 years old and have played guitar by ear since I was 5. I've always enjoyed playing for myself and family. I never put much effort into learning to read music or music theory. I wanted to learn tab because it might give me a way to learn a song more quickly and accurately than the old ears. This book did the trick and was all I needed to learn to read tab. In fact it cuts right to the point without going into a lot of extraneous information that I don't need. 2 hours ago I couldn't read tab and now I can. thanks!
- I bought this book to help me with the author's other book I bought. I really like this author, he has good instructions, good advice and online websites for additional help.
- I’d been away from guitar for many years and needed a refresher to get enthused about training again. This book worked for me as my old material was all in tab some of which I forgot how to read. I’m back on the path now
- This is amazingly complete, yet very concise. A perfect reference guide I'll use again and again. Highly recommended for any experience level.
