"This book has changed my perspective for the better. It is very prescriptive in its approach, but that's just what I needed. Not only can I better understand the love expressed by others in their unique way, but I have a better concept of how to express love in different "languages" and even "dialects." My understanding of others has greatly improved. I'm more excited to think of different ways to express my love. I just can't say enough about this book. It is well worth a second read as well just to be reminded of all the important messages. It also includes portions about controlling anger and apologies.
The book doesn't contain information that's mind blowing, but the way it's presented can be life changing for some. It's the package deal on how to be a better lover."

- I had purchased this book and The original 5 love languages book for me and my fiance to read before our wedding. I enjoyed my book but while my fiance was reading he kept saying this book has a lot of church references. While I noticed mine had maybe two or three in the beginning, he kept bringing this up, so i took his book and skimmed through it and there were just a ton of references. This would have been fine for me, but my Fiance is non religious and just couldn't relate to the many references of talking to god and what not and started to not take the book seriously. If I had known that this book was going to put such an emphasis on religion I would have not purchased it.
- My wife and I were not connecting as much as we use to. I had her take the test and learned her love language. I wanted to understand more about how to connect with her and this book was the key! The Five Love Languages for Men was written perfectly for a husband looking to connect with his partner. The reason I like this book is because each love language has it's own chapter. This made it easy to go straight to my wife's love language and learn how to connect with her. I also like this book because it is easy to understand. Some of the actions that must be done to fill your wife's love tank can be hard, but this book tells you how to fill your wife's love tank and gives you hope.
- This book is easy to read and easy to comprehend. The writing is attractive and helps the reader understand with ease the challenges and difficulties in relationships with their significant other and or other people in their lives. After reading this, I believe love is perception based and it is a matter of just changing how you see things to understand and feel loved. The part that hit close to home for me was in the end where a man who had gone to prison had wrote the author to tell how he had never felt love from his mother but after reading the book, realized she had loved him all along but not in a language he spoke and it wasn't until he was about to be locked away from her that she spoke to him in the language of touch and opened his mind. It brought tears to my eyes because I identified myself with that man having that internal struggle When Love Was there all along. Love is the motivating factor in practically all of our life decisions. With it, we feel we can conquer the world and without it we feel abandoned and scared. It is all a matter of perception. Love yourself, love your family, love your friends, and all those that are close to you and unknown to you and the world is not such a scary place after all. This book is definitely going to be on the top of my shelf.
- While it was too late to save the former relationship, it gave me insight as to what could have gone better. Hopefully it will help for the future! It is a good read for anyone in a relationship.
- Written for men. The original is written for both men and women, but this explains it better from a male point of view. I would recommend if you're trying to figure out love languages, take the free online quiz, but this book for the man and the original for the woman. Then after reading the book, take the quiz at the back. See the difference.
- My husband actually preferred the original better than the one for men but still a good read. Some men may be more inspired to read because it says "for men" lol
- Finally a "how to" manual once you figured out your spouse's love language but it's...foreign to you and hard to know how to "do" it as it were. Added bonus you only have to read the chapters that apply to "them" (though the latter chapters are pretty good too), so a quick easy read, whoa, finally!
