The Biographical Bible Exploring the Biblical Narrative from Adam and Eve to John of Patmos edition by Ruth A Tucker Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
- I have long held that the characters in Bible are portrayed as holier than thou, and without the foibles we every day people are burdened with. Reading The Biographical Bible has shown me , as Solomon aptly observed " there is nothing new under the sun" We are ALL connected, we ALL have fallen short of will of God and we ALL are given the choice to repent , to seek His face and ask for forgiveness. I am so glad this book was written and I had the opportunity to read it.
- I gave this book 3 stars because it is OK but it is so looooong and so repetitive that it took me so long to get through it. I can't say that I learned anything new but it did reinforce much of what I already know. I really didn't like her perspective on Isaac nor Joseph. I almost didn't continue reading after I got through them. It's not boring but so repetitive and so long.
- This is an incredible journey through the most incredible book of all time...the bible. I love Ruth's style of story telling leaving me with the feeling I was back in time. One of the things that attracted me to The Biographical Bible is the continuous biblical journey from beginning to end instead of jumping around. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the bible.
- Educational, challenging, motivational, humbling, uplifting. A great book, well written and compiled placing the Scriptural stories in a form of chronological narrative that appeals to the seller of truth.
- This is one of the best written books and retelling of the biblical narrative in an engaging, creative, and interesting style. Tucker doesn't evade the difficult portions of the narrative that are honest about the negative characteristics of biblical personalities. She also paints vividly their positive characteristics as well. Tucker is ruthlessly honest as is the Bible itself. This is a long book but definitely worth the read.
- Insightful and encouraging. Makes one see the Word of God from a personal perspective. Leads one into a deeper study of the Word. Helps to clarify an individual's thinking so they can see themselves in relation to the written Word as well as the Living Word.
- This book really help understand the bible a lot more. A must read for those who want a deeper understanding inside.
